I was just minding my business in my car.
That’s when the guy in the lane next to me suddenly made a B-line into my lane.
No warning.
It caught me by surprise.
It also pissed me off.
Then — about five seconds later — once the vein in my neck settled down — the optimist in me showed up.
Because it led to this thought below…
Want to know a signal of a talented leader?
It’s an actual signal.
A turn signal.
Great leaders know it’s not enough to know where they’re going.
They communicate the direction to everyone around them.
And when leaders signal early — and consistently — teams move together.
No signal?
That’s a signal!
You may know where you’re steering the business.
But when leaders move without signaling, everyone around them is left guessing.
Want to be a team player?
Use signals.
Do so consistently.
Don’t just communicate…
OVER-communicate.
Because what feels like over-communication to you is often just basic communication to everyone else.
Great leaders don’t just take the wheel…
They make sure everyone knows where the car is going.
