There might not be a more perfect guest for #TheCourageousPodcast than Blake Mycoskie.
Blake and his team turned TOMS into a global movement, giving away more than 95 million pairs of shoes and proving that business could be a force for good.
Most don’t realize Blake’s most courageous chapter didn’t happen while building his behemoth of a company. It came after.
Despite the success, recognition, and impact, Blake found himself struggling with depression and questioning whether any of it was enough.
How bad?
He didn’t post a single story on his social feed for three years.
In essence, Blake spent years giving shoes to strangers while slowly losing his own footing. That’s the part of the courageous journey we don’t discuss enough.
Sometimes courage is betting on the big idea. Sometimes it’s admitting the big idea didn’t fix everything.
Blake joins me this week on The Courageous Podcast.
And fittingly, during #CourageWeek, he reminds us:
The most courageous journey may be the one that brings you home to yourself.
