The things we say to ourselves?
We’d rarely say to another person.
Headamentals
After six years of studying how self-talk can spiral us or even sink a team if left unchecked, my co-authors and I are now under 60 days from launching Headamentals.
Here are five things I’ve learned from studying self-talk in leadership:
1. Your inner critic is the quietest loudest voice in your life. It’s more influential than you think and it feasts on silence.
2. Negative self-talk is contagious. In business, when left unchecked, it will quickly derail team-talk.
3. There are patterns to the madness. In the book we call it the work of your “Monster”. Once you name them, you can tame them.
4. Self-talk isn’t just about what you hear. It’s about what you choose to listen to.
5. Monitoring your head is self-leadership. Personal productivity starts with clarity inside your own mind.
This week on The Courageous Podcast, I sat down with my co-authors Rhett Power and Dr. Suzy Burke to preview the winding journey of Headamentals.
